That's to bad Tx. You would have enjoyed it I'm sure. Like JD and FCross said, I was able to achieve excellent accuracy (.40" three-shot group) with mine using 45.5 gr. of Varget behind a Berger 168gr. VLD Match bullet. I have the same gun as FCross - it's the 18" bull barrel and the rifle weighs a ton! They are very well made and I am a DPMS convert for life! My other AR is an RRA NMA4 and nobody makes a better trigger! The trigger in my DPMS did get very smooth after about 500 rds., so I am not going to replace it. I like the rifle so much I bought one for my son also!

RL357Mag, I'm glad you like yours. DPMS,RRA and some others do build some nice guns. I really like my 20" RRA Varmiter,and the 18" heavy barrel that I assembled. Both will shoot the wings off fly's-LOL.

I have never had a 308 cal rifle,I have always shot 30/06 & 300WM,and when Cobb Manufacturing came out with their modular AR system I couldn't afford one at the time,and now they are out of business from what I've heard,so nobody offers an AR for long action cartridges.

I'm sure when I get one,I'll love shooting it,and grow fond of the 308.

I was torn between the Varmint EOP and the NMA4. I chose the NMA4 because of the detacheable carry handle. DPMS makes a bunch of chamberings for the AR including the .300 SAUM and .243. I really want one in .243 for an all around hunting/varmint rifle. Then again the RRA .458 SOCOM is an interesting rifle too. Too many guns and not enough money...
