Who picked up a new gun on Black Friday?
I didn't get anything new and never even went in a sporting goods store today. Did see some good deals in the fliers but the pocketbook is not able to spend on anymore guns right now.
So did anyone get anything new today? I was sorely tempted by the GSG5 that they had on sale at Dunhams this morning. Some good deals on Blackpowder at Gander too. But I have three kids to buy for this time of the year and the wife did just get me a Marlin 795 for my B-day.

A birthday present was bought for me today at Big 5 $89 for a Mosin Nagant. I love these rifles

They had the mosins at Dunhams and Gander today for that price. I picked one up about a month ago at a gun show. Haven't shot it much but will be going to the gun show tomorrow to pick up more surplus ammo. At least, that is all I plan to pick up is about 100 rounds. Last time I went looking for ammo and a choke tube and I ended up with the mosin.

Picked up 5 today. Then set'em right back down on the counter.

South Carolina had their 3rd annual tax-free shopping on firearms this year, and I heard sales were brisk.

I stayed as far from retail as I could. I hung some drywall and finally dynoed the 445 we built.

I picked up an old gun. A Browning BAR Grade 2 in .243. It belonged to my Dad. I picked it up, put it in the pickup, and went deer hunting. Stayed as far from "civilization" as I could. Had a better day than most folks that went shopping.

Not on Friday...
Earlier in the week I went into one of the 'local' gunshops and saw a Ruger Security Six (2.75 inch barrel) in the used gun case. I looked at it, saw it was in acceptable (rather good, actually) condition and they wanted $299.00 for it.
I set the revolver down, handed my ID and debit card to the clerk and said "I'll take it."
I have to get a set of decent grips for it (which are already on the way) and it will be a dandy addition to the Old Man Montgomery Home for Unloved Revolvers.
