I believe they have a aluminum mount that works as well for $160.

You're welcome, Hawk, and thanks for the kind words. That TRW is kinda neat in that it is the only real, authentic, origninal M14NM that is not required to be on the NFA registry.

Here's another, a heel-marked Norinco put together many years ago:

Regards,

Walt

Another nice looking stick!

Could you elaborate on the rifle in the middle? I'm sure there will be some discussion as that is not your everyday rifle.

Mini-14 581 series in hand refinished wood stock, added a SOCOM strut and wood upper guard, Tech Sights rear sight, M1 style sling.

I thought it was a mini-14, but the gas cylinder jutting out like that threw me.

I still have a few, Hawk.

LRB, SAI, Smith Ent, Fed Ord and Armscorp currently represented.

And, Doc, you should try a Bassett mount. Sadlaks are excellent, but the Bassett is awesome, and cheaper than the Sadlak.

I have one of the loaded variety, stainless NM barrel, NM sights and trigger. It is also bedded and has a titanium nitride gas piston. I was shooting it last weekend making the steel ring at 400. Really neat to do that with open sights.

I have in the works through a gunsmith buddy of mine a army m21 that he brought back from 'Nam. Would that count? I also have a mini 14 rancher in the ss model. Im impressed with it but not the magazine since all I can seem to find for it is replacement 5 round mags for it. Anybody got any suggestions on where I can possibly find one, besides cheaper than dirt, that doesnt want $35 for a dang piece of plastic?

That would be an NFA item, and would suggest you run, not walk, away from it.
