Hawk7173,why a bolt conversion...did the rifle have headspace issuses?

Chinese bolts have had softness problems. Rather than taking any chances I had a brand new TRW bolt put in. This requires some modification to the receiver.

i've read that about the chinese bolts being soft...i guess i'm one of the lucky ones,that havent had any issuse with my bolt
would like to live in canada for a bit.being the norinco m14's are still being imported & selling for 399.00 = 250.00USD

I hear ya.
Not all Chinese bolts are soft. However, just to be on the safe side, it is reccomended that you keep an eye on the headspace in order to ensure that it doesn't wear excessively.

Even though it's on par, it would still be an extremely great price at $399.

My M1A, Springfield Standard.
Pulled the scope because that 1st gen springfield mount wont hold zero woth a crap.

Good lookin stick!
You might want to check out Entry to Sadlak.com for a mount. Theirs are high quality and for a fair price. They make them in house unlike some of the others out there.

Oh I know about sadlak....unfortunately I dont have 2 bills to drop on a scope mount.
