Who here owns 257 Roberts +P?
The one I got is beast!

Do own a Ruger Hawkeye that I can shoot the +p ammo and a custom one built on a 98 mauser action that can handle the +P. Never have bought any of its factory ammo, but have done some reloads that match it. Not sure what you mean by a beast, but consider its recoil on the mild side, but do like the higher velocity it can reach. By the way, have a 91 Argentine rebarreled to 257R, don't shoot my +P reloads in it.

Just what is a 257 Roberts +P?

Maybe a rifle chambered in 257 Roberts or even a 257 Roberts Ackley Improved, but never heard of a +P caliber.

Not really anything special about +P ammo in a rifle cartridge.
Have you ever seen a deer with a chronograph? They don't know that there's a difference in being dead from a faster or slower bullet.

Original wildcat 257R was loaded hotter than the factory ammo when it was standardized and chambered in rifles. So, basically the factory +P 257R ammo introduced not that long ago, is closer ballistically to the original wildcat cartridges. No difference in the dimensions of a standard 257R cartridge and a 257R +P. Except for Remington 257R ammo, think about all other 257R ammo makers today, have the +P. I have a 91 Argentine mauser in 257R. Its recommended to avoid using the +P ammo in it, because of its higher pressures.
