You can buy a pretty nice real '03 for around seven hundred bucks. If you can find a genuine sniper model, it will cost more.

Buy the real deal and own some history while you're at it.

Basically, you are buying a replica of the 1903 other than the action for $1000. Worth it? Well definitely not for me. I could find an old action, give it to my gunsmith, and get the same for a whole lot less. Or +1 on the above.

The originals are neat because they are a piece of history. The price is about right for a repo, as originals sell for @$2500. If you decision is to have a replica, the original rings and bases sell for @ $100-$125 on EBAY. A relic scope is @ $75. To convert the bolt of a 03A3 @$75 IF you can find a gunsmith with the bolt forging jigs. Then to drill and tap @$50. An original Remington 03A3 in good condition @$600.
