If that's the goal then go with a classic all steel pistol like a Colt 1911, Browning Hi Power, or a CZ75B.

How bout a smith wesson mp 15-22?? Everyone needs a good 22lr to train with using super cheap ammo. The magpul version is pretty sweet

i agree, a 22lr is really needed. get a Ruger 10/22 or a Marlin M60. both are great, accurate, cheap to buy and cheap to shoot. i don't think anyones firearms collection is complete unless you own a couple of 22's!

If you want a gun to use, always start by realizing that a gun is a tool the same as a hammer or saw. Then ask yourself, "what tool do I need now?" Let your needs determine what you get and not your wants or advertising.
If you are just collecting, then think about what type of collection you want to have i.e. historical, military, sporting, etc. Then pick specific guns to add to that collection.
