450 yards at a steel pig shillouette with a .45-70 replica Sharps 1874. Made the hit after about 4 ranging rounds. Bang, wait, wait..... kerplunk!

250 yards at a big white tail 10-point. Took a frontal chest shot as this is farther than I normally want to shoot game (I usullay only take neck shots). One shot knockdown, head/shoulder mount on my wall.

Default Back in the day

We used to cruse the country roads glassing for woodchucks. When we found a field that had a few we would ask the owners if we could shoot them. The farmers were glad to be rid of them, sometimes they would even offer to pay us per carcus. Most shots were over 200 yds. and the fun started at 300-400 yds. I shot a sporterized 1917 eddystone with a Douglas supreme 24" barrel and a 2-7 Redfield scope. My friend shot a 25.06 Weatherby with a 3-9 Bushnell. By the middle of summer we did'nt miss many at those ranges.
Oh yea, we would clean them and freeze them and at the end of september we would have a freezer full, about 200 or 250 chucks. We would cut them in pieces and parboil them and roast them on a bon fire like hotdogs on a stick. Delicious with beer and corn cooked in the same fire. There would be between 30 and 50 people at our Chuck Roasts.
When deer season came around, we knew where our guns were hitting.

Longest around here was 528 yds. Wind was terrible. Put three in the black(5 1/2" circle) with a total group size of 4 9/16"

The longest shot I have ever taken at a game animal I killed it with 1 shot. I had the whole driveway and yard full of customers during early afternoon on opening day of deer season several years back. The usual request was sighting in scopes (apparently after missing) , with a few other things so I had aboutt 20 witnesses. I had my custom long range special 7mm RUM out there to show to a couple of them wanting to try it. We were shooting at the 100 yard targets when a injured buck started hobbling across my 800 yard range. Everybody was hollering to put him out of his misery. When he brushed up against my 650 yard windflag I knew exactly how far away he was. After resting my rifle I dialed it in for 650 yards and shot. He dropped at the shot and when we went to retrieve him he was 3 yards shy of the windflag. It sure made my reputation locally the day I shot a buck at 647 yards away in front of all those people!!! I got orders for more rifles after that too! Yes most of those witnesses can be contacted in case of doubt.

that's the best kind of advertisement. no better proof of workmanship than witnessing it in action first hand. i'm sure you did get more orders for rifles after that.

Outstanding! I do not doubt you at all, so no need to confer with witnesses.
