Default What was your first handgun, rimfire and centerfire

My first rimfire was a Hopkins and Allen 5 shot 22 short revolver. It was pretty beat up, not sure exactly how I came by it, I was 14 or 15 at the time and wisely got rid of it. My first decent rimfire was a High Standard HD Military while in College, unwisely, I also let that one go. First center fire was a Ruger Security Six, 357 mag ($87.95) years later in my 40's. I have managed to keep that one. :-)

S&W 22A. Loved it!!! One of the best rimfires I've owned.

Hi-Point C9. Surprisingly, I loved that one as well.

Didn't love either one enough to keep them tho.

Centerfire: S&W 586 .357 mag. w/ 4" barrel, in my 20's. A couple years later money got tight and I sold it.

Rimfire: Heritage Rough Rider Convertible, 3 3/4" barrel, .22lr & .22wmr, still have it.

My first handgun was a 1918 vintage 1911 from my brother when I was 13.

AMT Lightning in .22LR, still have it, but I don't shoot it much anymore. Was great for youthful, urban squirrel sniping.

A Titan snub-nosed .38 special my grandmother gave me when I was a teenager, not fun to shoot with those tiny grips.

My first handgun, back about 1952, was a "new in the cosmoline" G-I surplus 1911A1, .45ACP. Several years later, I acquired an old H&R 9
shot .22 revolver. My dad was never a fan of the .22.
