I had several shotguns before I acquired a rifle. I was in my mid 20's before I bought a 22 LR.

My first may have been my husband's Spanish mauser. I've been addicted ever since!

Marlin Model 60 for me too ... It was my uncles, and I spent the last couple years trying to find one like it. 18 round tube with 22" barrel. Found one at a pawn shop back home in Cedar County in July finally ! And it shoots like a dream still !!!

My first was similar to this one a Rem. .22 special pump ( note the corn cob look too the pump, the severe western look to the butt the steel butt plate, I forgot to say it had an OCTAGON BARREL, etc.) it was my dads' and my step mom could out shoot him!

When I was in high school my best friend owned one like that. Took a lot of rabbits w/ it.

I've never been one to do things in proper order. Most people shoot a 22 first but I bought an Armalite M15 from an LGS shortly after turning 18 and that was the first rifle I shot. A few years went by before I finally picked up a Henry 22 lever gun. I fell in love with the 22lr. In hindsight I should've gotten a 22lr first. I've since sold the Armalite, but the 22 is still in the safe and comes out regularly.
