Default What is your favorite gun lube?
After reading the thread from Centerfire I was wondering what do most use for lube other than gun oil? I have heard some use wheel bearing grease, some use Mobil 1 ect ect

I have recently been using polytetrafluoroethylene grease (ptfe lubricant) in my AR with a little bit of gun oil and it seems to be working very well.. I have put prob 250 rounds through it so far and it seems to be staying where plain gun oil would have long since burned away. It hasn't seemed to collect any more crud than normal yet..

+ 1 for Mobil One works great for ar's and my 1911 doesn't dissipate with heat like other lighter oils IMO

Franks red hot, I put that sh!t on everthing!!

I've been using outters gun oil for years and haven't had a single problem. I've herad of people using mobil 1 which should work fine. I've also heard of people using ATF which is a bit of a concern to me since it's a hydraulic fluid and not necessarily a lubricant.

For the most part I prefer grease because it stays where I put it and you use very little. Shooter's Choice or Wilson.

Castrol Syntec 5W-30 or Rig Lube +P stainless steel grease. I use Sentry Solutions Dry lube on my AR's.

on my bolt guns I use moly grease. On my AR I use Mobil 1 oil on the trigger mechanism and grease on the bolt carrier and a few other places.
