I assume 7.62 x 51mm NATO, which is a .308 with a 51mm casing.

I think some do not realize that 7.62x39 is a .308 with a 39mm casing.

Yep, I know that most of you know this, but some new people do not.

Nothing seriously wrong with a piston AR and many other designs. On the other hand, there's nothing seriously wrong with today's AR either.

It is hard to say, during its long history, Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times. That is not counting the period since WWII.

[QUOTE=JonM;1486490]none of it is true. its all internet mall ninja wishful thinking. actual tests by the dod proved that piston driven m16/ar15 are NOT more reliable than direct impinge driven m16/ar15. they are about the same. since di is cheaper to build and easier to maintain there will be no switch ever to piston driven m16 platform.

"the m16 already has. the soviets are phasing out and have been phasing out the ak47 for a 5.45 cartridge since the 80's. the soviet military almost never totally shelves anything so it wiulll be quite a while before the ak47 totally leaves soviet service."

Yea....the 5.45 is called an ak 74 so...still an ak. And they will always use Kalashnikovs, what caliber is anyones guess. The Spetsnaz use the 5.45 round "ak 74"

Actually the only ak 74 they still use in the spetsnaz is the ak74u for a sub gun but lately they have been using the ak9 more for that purpose. If you see modern footage of spetsnaz soldiers usually they can be seen with an an 94, a pp19, a Kbp 9a91 or an ak-103

That's why you don't show any kind of respect.Cod...how the hell can you even think about comparing a game to a vet's life?!What a moron...That's why so many vets ask themselves what did they fought for....

Hey man, you do not have to prove anything to anyone. I have been called out to, but I ignore it. I could explain my past and skills too, but it belongs to me. My friends and family know, and that is enough. Everyone is brave and makes assumptions behind a computer screen. Then again there are a number of like forum members who would make some **** in their pants if they only knew...
