Bet there wasn't any seals using 710's or 770's. The 700 compared to the other two is a better gun by a wide margin. No comparison in my opinion.

Neverhad that problem with mine, but it's less then a yr. old...

yes the M770 replaced the M710. but the M770 never replaced the M700 at any point. they are two totally different rifle actions. nothing will interchange between them. also there are no aftermaket parts or accessories for the M770 like there is for the M700. the M770 and the M710 were both junk and neither should have ever left the plant in the first place. i like Remington products and own quite few of them, but they dropped the ball big time with those two rifle designs.

the military is still using the M700 in various configurations for a sniper rifle platform.

I had a stainless Ruger Mini-14 (181 series I believe) in the mid 80s. POS. Unreliable with anything but the 5 round mag (even then it was questionable). Blew it up (another story), Ruger rebuilt it, I traded it off for an AR-15 and NEVER looked back.

A buddy had a Remington 600 Mohawk in .308 that would occasionally hit the broad side of a barn (from inside the barn)

A Later model Handi Rifle in .22/250 was the worst rifle I've ever owned. Horrible trigger, could not get better than a 2" group at 100 yds no matter what I did. Wasn't expecting a tack driver but that thing was terrible. It's gone now thank God.

Only accurate rifles are fun!! Any rifle I buy that will not shoot a 1" group at 100 yds I won't own for long.

I got to shoot a Remington 710 this weekend and it felt like a toy. It was chambered in .270 and though I have held a 710/770 previously I had never shot one. I was very relieved that the bolt did not fly back in my face considering the quality of the componets.
