What Rifle Would You Purchase?

I am currently looking at two guns to purchase and would like some input on which one would be better. I am looking for just a shooter rifle. I don't have a really accurate long rifle, nor do I have an AR. I have a Mosin and an AK. I am looking to get a DPMS Panther Oracle or a Remington 700. If I purchase the DPMS I am going to get a Eotech 512. If I purchase the Remington 700 I am going to purchase a Leupold scope. I am just wanting some input. If you think something else would be better please tell me, or if you have a specific leupold scope you use for your Remington 700 in .308, please let me know what you think of it.

Thanks!
here is the links to the guns.

The Remington is going to have a greater range and be more accurate, but the AR will be cheaper to shoot and should be accurate at shorter ranges. I really don't know much about that brand though.

Happy shooting!

I'm not a DPMS fan but for that price id take it!
It all depends on what you want the new weapon for. Speed/target shooting? Long range shooting? The once a week trip to the range? What's up?

5.56 ammo is a lot cheaper than .308 (lighter too) and it doesn't 'require' as long a range.

I am no doomsday prepper at all, but I would want it for like the once a week trip to the range as well as for survival if **** ever hit the fan.

I currently have a

Mosin Nagant
Springfield .45 XD
Taurus 82
Ruger 10/22
Ak 47
Mossberg 500 .12GA
Remington 1100 .20GA
and a few others

I guess I am looking for something different from what I have? Not really sure.. I just have been saving to purchase a gun for a while.

Get the Remington first. You can use it for target shooting, long range shooting, and hunting if you ever decide to go hunting. Get the AR later and add it to your collection.

Get the 700 then do a lot of research before purchasing an AR.

I'm more interested in bolt action rifles so, my choice is obvious. You can always throw a .223 bolt in the mix. I have a Ruger All-Weather Hawkeye SS Bolt in .223 with a Bushnell 3200 4 X12 and it's a great set up.

Well having an AK and an AR togeather in a shtf situation is a good investment. Cover ammo on all sides lol.
If you're not gonna shoot long range or hunt id go with the AR. Like I said its a good investment.

Last year I purchased a Remington 700 bdl custom deluxe in 30-06 with a Burris 3x9x50 scope. Trigger broke like glass at 4.5 pounds which for me was perfect because I plan on using this rifle just for hunting. Accuracy out of the box was excellent. At a hundred yards using cheap 150 gr federal ammunition from wall mart I easily shot 1.5 inch groups the first time I shot this rifle which was good for me because ihad not shot a hire powered rifle since 1994. Now after a couple more trips to the range I can shoot 1 inch groups at a hundred yards. Can't wait to find a place where I can try shooting at longer ranges.
