Default What exactly is this?

The top rifle, was handed down to me. It is a Mannlicher Shoenauer model 1952 .30-06. I would like more info on it. How good of a gun? How much is it worth? Wheres it from? Any cool history on them?

Close up pics of the stamps, action, and bottom metal please. That is pretty sweet. The rifle has some major spacers for the butt pad.
