A Winchester Model 67. Single-shot, bolt-action .22 rifle. My Mom bought it for me, along with a Velveeta cheese box full of loose ammo, for $10. Not sure of my age, but it was in the 1950's and I was in grade school at the time. I had to take an NRA safety class before she'd even let me handle it. One of the coolest things she ever did for me, now that I think back.

This was intended for Culpepper but I didn't get the quote in.

Sears .22 bolt action rifle. At about 12 years old. Marlin-built, I think. Still have it.

In 1971 I paid $149 & tax for an Ithica Mod. 37 Feather Light.
I miss that gun and hunting with the Father-in-Law.

A Norinco AK-47; bought it in the summer of 1987 just as they were first being imported. About 10 years later I found another one(Norinco also) at a gun show and bought it through a private sale for about the same price($350 dollars). I have a soft spot in my heart for AKs.

I went to a gun show today and helped to negotiate a fair price for a Century Arms WASR-10 of $450 dollars cash for a friend who's a dentist and for some unknown reason just had to have one. We immediately took it to a local range and it shoots great.
