At that price I would be asking what is wrong with the rifle that it is selling that cheap. So what is wrong with it? Beat up stock, won't fire, barrel bent?

Check it over and inspect it very carefully, especially the bolt action, chamber and barrel. Hell take somebody with you that may be more familiar with what to look for in a used rifle if need be.
Then, if all is well and your satisfied, give the man the money, thank him, walk out, and don't look back. That is a helluva price for that rifle, if it is still in great shape.
