You are missing out! The 1500 action has a flat underside and all the rifles are pillar bedded. My HB .308 will shoot 1 ragged hole bulls at 100 yards all day long. I have not found a powder/bullet combination it does not shoot well. That goes for 7.62x51 ammo also.
Freedom is not free. The best of us always leave too soon.
Weatherby rifles are good rifles and very nice looking! However as accurate as they are I don't think we could make the claim that they are the "Most Accurate Rifles Made" Granted they are or at least the ones I have been associated with are very accurate. But a lot of other companies make very accurate rifles. My cousin had Weatherby rifles when he guided in Montana and Wyoming for several years. And they were also real pretty rifles! That was the reason besides price that I would not buy one due to the fact if I ever nicked it up I would have to cry!!!! His favorite was a 270 Weatherby Magnum caliber rifle. If I nick up a regular hunting rifle I usually will say a few adjectives but not cry! However they are nice rifles and if you get a great deal on one it would be hard to pass up. Also be sure you get one in the standard normal calibers instead of the Weatherby Mag Calibers which will cost you an arm and a leg for ammunition! I know Howa makes the Weatherby Vanguard for Weatherby.
I have A vanguard in .223 and a savage 110 in .223.
I like them both. I do have to say that for the last ten years I have shot them both regularly and the savage is more accurate. That being said, my savage 12 in .223 puts them both to shame.
