Default Which way to spend $500-600?

I got an email saying that I needed to participate more, so I pose this question that I am currently pondering. I have $500-600 to spend on a Christmas present to myself.

1. Buy a Savage FV-SR. I have always wanted a short rimfire that would take a suppressor if I get one, and with a EVO SS stock, and bottom metal, will come out to about $450-500. Scope is already laying around. I have a few 10/22s, but only a "benchrest" MK2, and 2 other Savage Mk2 in 17hm2, so the magazines are not an issue. I priced out bolt handle, barrel cut and thread, and I can sell or partout and come out ahead.

2. I don't currently have a "deer rifle". I sold a 20" 7.62x39 upper because it was too long for stand hunting, and for walking. I have been looking at used uppers, but they are few and far between, and can't beat a SOTA Arms upper in price or features. The bolt issues that flared up seem to have been taken care of. If not, they will send another or a refund. Without that even, the bolt is $100, and comes out cheaper than buying a Model 1 Sales, Delton etc. Upper is $400-510, and mags are $60ish from MidwayUSA, and I already have a leftover 10 rd from the last sale.

3. I don't need it, but want a bullpup 10/22. RJF ZK-22 or a HTA 90/22 bullpup ($300)stock, plus barrel ($80-infinity), and trigger work ($70-140). I would honestly like to see an AUG or Tavor, but i dont' know if it will ever happen. I don't like the look of the JBunting bullpup.

Get yourself a deer rifle! There is plenty of good ones to be had for $600.

.22 suppressor gets my vote I know you didn't put it in the running but you did mention it. Put the extra into getting your 10/22 threaded.

I suggest you get a threaded barrel for your 10/22 and a suppressor for it. Silencer Co. Sparrow gets good reviews.

Texas with no deer rifle??

Ok, with your budget, there's really only one way to go...
Marlin X7-VH in .22-250 Remington or .308!!

Its a heavy barrel version of the famed X7 series...adjustable target trigger, fluted bolt, factory bedding & recoil pad...
BUT it only runs around $360 at the best gun shops (like Bud's)...
which leaves you a nice chunk of change in the budget for a good scope

The VH is also danged light for a HB rifle...7&3/4 pounds
and you can get Boyd's Laminate stocks for around $99 later if you don't like the Synthetic...

The X7 series, straight out of the box tends to be Sub-MOA if the shooter is capable of it, they start at $299...
the VH version just adds 500 yard+ long-range capability for those Texas Pronghorns...

I have a bunch of guns of all kinds, AK, AR, Galil, Shotgun, Revolvers, Bolt actions, Semi auto pistols, and my favorite 'only one' gun is my Sako Bolt Action 25.06. It reaches out and touches someone flatter than all my others, and is a blast to turn rocks into sand with. It also would be my go to gun if shtf and i was on my own out in the wilderness.

I have an FVSR and it is a nice little rifle. Why not a 16" 6.8 SPC upper? The 7.62x39 uppers seem to have a lot of problems. Or you could just buy a 30-30.

Here's my FV SR. Took it out today matter of fact. Great gun, smooth and flawless, accurate too. Then I shot my 30.06 at 700 yards and that was way more satisfying
