Cornbelt,

Since FTF Forum is also an educational Forum for all of us. Please let us know in detail what you find out and how it was corrected. As I am sure you plan on doing.
Good Luck and be sure and find a good gunsmith! Not a backyard mechanic that thinks he is one!!! As per Logan's post.

I would also probably give Douglas Tech a call. It is not like something they have never dealt with before.

I thought to do just that, but first I need to make sure they get straight information.
I'll be doing the work myself. For whatever its worth, I have a degree in gunsmithing, but as you all know, there is always something new to learn.
I'll keep you posted once I get to it.

Not really an update, since I haven't done anything yet, but I did find my notes: "Checked bbl shoulder w/ tenth indicator, all OK." (Yeah, that's a .0001 B&S)
"Scraped bbl channel. No contact except chamber area."
"Checked bbl to rec. ring w/plastiguage; no gaps."
"Still shoots left."
I've moved since then and other stuff has gotten in the way, but the notes jogged my memory -such as it is. So I do believe its a bbl issue. The whole rifle weighs in at about 12 lbs. Most of that is bbl.
I'll bother you some more when I learn a little more.
