I started with a 30/30 iron sites, problem was that we started saying 6 points are better so I needed a scope, I then went to the .270 bolt action remington 700 and love it.. But now I hunt with a semi auto browning bar 30-06 with boss. A little loud but my favorite thus far.. It's sweet with my leopold.. Also I like 50mm scope so I can see well in low light areas.. More importantly I shot the guns I hunted with alot, enough to build muscle memory on proper trigger pull and form.. That way when the pressure is on I have less chance of pulling as I instinctively shoot properly.. Those deer move through a lot faster then on the out door channel and it makes you sick to wound that beautiful creature without harvesting.. All the afore mentioned guns did their job great as long as I did mine
