The guns are the same. I will not buy a gun from Walmart because I have no respect for what that business has become.
However, I have some close friends here in Arkansas that work at the Remington ammo factory. They both claim that Walmart ammo is made in a separate building, because they cut corners on it. ...but what do you expect from Remington?

Don't see them chiming in this time.
Since then they have bought more guns and believe that they are not cheaper models.

Over the years there were guns sold under the brand names of Sears, Western Auto, J C Penney, Montgomery Wards, and others. They were made by companies like Winchester, Marlin, Savage, Mossberg, Colt, High Standard, etc.

Like Walmart- they were the same guns. The store brand guns might have had a plainer finish, stocks of birch instead of walnut- but same gun.

Wallyworld buys a huge chunk of a production run, gets a volume price. Once in a while, they may have a special run made for them- different color stock available only from them, etc- but think about it- there is no gun maker in existence that would sell ANY gun that was a "second". With all of the suit happy fools around, NO maker is going to sell any gun or ammo that could be called a "second".

The next time that someone shares this bit of wisdom with you, agree emphatically that it must be true- then tell them that you heard all the condoms they sell are the ones that would not pass a quality control check. Then watch their face for signs of panic.

No legitimate gun company is going to put their reputation on the line by making "crappy" versions of their guns for walmart. And I've never seen a lorcin at walmart

What all of you are missing is that 99.99999999999% of LGS don't buy from the factory. They buy from a distributor who marks the price up.

Walmart because of the volume can buy from the factory and Walmart is going to buy the cheap model.

WHen you buy from walmart your money goes to walmart and the gun manufacture. When buying from a LGS your money goes to the LGS, distributor, shipper, manufacture. So which do you think is going to cost less.

Got a rifle from Wally World.

Quality of rifle is fine, but the treatment you

get, IMO, when you show you have the squeaky

clean record to be able to purchase one of their rifles,

is nothing short of reprehensible.

I surely did not appreciate being escorted from the store,

like someone who had been caught vandalizing the premises,

after waiting out a call-in, and spending a few hundred dollars.

Many tines when someone buys a gun in Walmart, they're immediately escorted from the store, literally, as if they've committed a crime against Walmart.

Some Walmarts won't allow you to buy guns and ammo in the same trip. Some employees/managers will actually go so far as to say, "we don't know if your gonna load the gun and go on a shooting spree!".

I'm not kidding. In many Wal-marts, your already considered guilty of a crime just for buying a gun or ammo. Speaking of which, some stores will have you escorted out for buying ammo.

So while Walmart guns are the same as any other... It's still a ****ty place to shop. Regardless of what your buying. I rarely even get groceries there anymore.

Wish I had a Kroger near by...
