Very informative. I do not know if a picture is worth a thousand words, in this case because of all the pictures. Yet it will be a big help when I put my .260 together, that is if I ever finish my gun room.

It's a Boyd's laminated LH Thumbhole stock. They only offer it in a Center feed configuration,so I had to modify it to work with a Staggered feed magazine.
I always order my laminated stocks unfinished because I usually have to either modify them or open up the barrel channel to fit my barrels. I always put 10-12 coats of hand rubbed Tung oil for a finish on my laminate wood stocks.

I just put the 5th coat of Tung oil on the stock. The depth is starting to show, and the colors are starting to really pop out.

So Txhillbilly: I was thinking, since I have not put together my 260 yet, I could strip the finish on my new stock, and send it to you so you could get some more practice in on your finishing skills. What are your thoughts on this? P.S. All those in favor please hit the thumbs up Like This Post
