I haven't taken it out in a long time honestly, when I took it out every time I went to the range it was a solid rifle. The recoil wasn't that bad honestly, the buttpad on it takes up a bit of the felt recoil. But my fiancée will get behind it every time and send rounds down range, no questions asked, she really likes the rifle.
I haven't found a scope within my range that is solid, so after I get married this year I'll be back on the market for a new scope. Last one I had was a Nikon Pro-Staff 3-9x40, lasted about a year or so and then it went bonkers on me. It always draws attention when I pull it out and drop the legs. You can find them pretty reasonably priced nowadays from what I've heard from friends. For the rifle, Harris bipod and fees I was just over $1,000, and that was 3 years ago. I'd like to think the higher price was due to the triangular barrel (it was new to the line up back then), but it could've very well just been my LGS making extra bank where they could, and I came strolling in lol.
The barrel on it is 22" total, with a 2" muzzle brake integrated into the barrel, I think they referred to it as a '20" active barrel' when I bought it. It makes a difference though, I will give it that, compared to my buddies 270 w/a steel buttplate, I could shoot this all day and not have a problem.
