Update to my Howa 1500
I got to thinking about my Howa 1500 and why it was shooting well, so I got to looking into the rifle both on the work bench and on line and it seems that Howa produced this rifle with aluminum pillar bedding and a free floating barrel.
That saves me some money because I had been thinking about getting it bedded, now I don't have too. Taking the action off the stock confirmed the pillar bedding, now I am happy.
