Just found this thread thought id add my 2 cents. My dad has a 7mm rem mag the rifle has some good recoil with factory loads with reloads it has about as much kick as a mosin. Its a good deer rifle. I think it's a good long range deer rifle but for closer work id use something else. The 7mm rem mag drops them in one shot usually but a 30-30 will drop them just as good with a hundred yards and is easier on your ears and shoulder.

I had always said that my 270 was the "perfect" deer cartridge. This year I set up my 270 with some managed recoil loads for my young son. I made the decision to use my 300 Weatherby MAG on my last deer trip. I shoot a 180 grain Nosler partition bullet at 3240 feet/second, and 4200 pounds of energy at the muzzle. Is this overkill for whitetail? - Absolutely. Was it nice to shoot 3 deer that never took one step - Absolutely!

Just saying, I'm throwing the same .308 bullet out of my gun as the other 30 cals, just a lot faster. It's kinda nice to know that you have the potential for extreme distance shots. Drawback - $4.00 to pull the trigger. Recoil - while sighting it in at the range, it'll knock your pecker in your watch pocket, but I've never, ever felt recoil while there was a deer in the crosshairs!

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm beginning to see the attraction to the "hotter" rounds for deer. Of what you listed, I like the 7mm-MAG.

Just my $0.02!
