I have an X Bolt Hunter in 308 win, truly enjoy shooting it. Light, smooth, 60 degree bolt, good trigger out of the box.

One of my buddies got his wife a Tikka in 308, it is also a fine deer rifle.

You should not be disappointed with either.

Handle both and see which one fits and feels better. If you can shoot them, that's even better. Then buy the one you like best. They're both good rifles and you'll be able to hand them down to the kids and grandkids.

Both would do you well. Isn't there a pretty significant price difference between the two, though?

I've owned both guns and you can flip a coin and not go wrong. Whichever feels best in your hands is the winner.
