I am looking into a Tikka t3 lite, in 30-06 w/ stainless & synthetic stock. Bass pro has these for 599.00 + plus tax. My LGS will order for 622.00 w/ tax. Is this a decent price? Or do you have a better suggestion for my price range? Are these made by beretta? I have seen beretta tikkas, and others labeled just tikka, what gives? Thanks

Berretta owns sako and tikka. Tikka part of sakos company to at one time. Couple large companies buy up all the others it seems. You need a better local dealer.

I got mine a few years ago for just over 500 before tax. My brother got his for close to 600 last year. I think the price sounds about right. It is my favorite rifle, and my brothers as well. It is seriously a tack driver, and the adjustable trigger is the best I've found. A few people have asked me where I got my trigger work done even. The only down side is you will want a limbsaver recoil pad. That hard thing that comes on the end of it will knock the snot out of you.

Hey thanks for the reply guys. So it seems that the price isn't to bad. What Are you and your brothers Tikka chambered in? Did you get synthetic or wood stock?

Also, I can't find these with iron sights already on them. Am I blind or stupid? Did yours come with irons? Or scope mount only?

Mine is in 300wsm. It is a lot of gun but I absolutely love it. It stays on a 10th inch plate to 700 yards no problem. That's with cheap ammo and I don't reload. Recoil really isn't that bad either. My brother has the 30 06. He loves his as well but doesn't shoot a whole lot since he just got married and is still in college, so he can't afford ammo. We use them for elk and mule deer. Both of us got the synthetic stocks. I prefer the wood just because its classy and traditional, but it was more $.

Tikka rifles are made here in Finland at the Sako factory with the same tooling as the Sako rifles. As stated above, Sako is owned by Beretta and Beretta imports Sakos and Tikkas to the US. For some reason, Beretta doesn't import all the different variations of the T3 that are available. That might be the reason why you can't find one with iron sights, but you can contact Beretta USA and ask them if they have those models available.

Haven't shot a T3 Lite, so I can't comment on their recoil in any caliber. I have a T3 Super Varmint in .308Win and I think the recoil is fairly mild. My rifle came with a picatinny rail for scope. The gun will shoot one ragged hole at 100yds with my handloads and good quality off-the-shelf ammo. Tikka actually guarantees 1MOA accuracy for their rifles.
