Consider the razor 10/22 mag receiver, with a little work it can be made to work with 17HMR. Much better ballistics in the same sized rifle. Mine has a butler creek carbon fiber barrel and a boyds blaster stock, weighs in at 4.9 lbs with a 9 round mag.
