That being said I am kind of wanting to set up one of my 10-22's as a 17M2
Consider the razor 10/22 mag receiver, with a little work it can be made to work with 17HMR. Much better ballistics in the same sized rifle. Mine has a butler creek carbon fiber barrel and a boyds blaster stock, weighs in at 4.9 lbs with a 9 round mag.

I'm thinking about a 17M2. That's on a 22lr receiver. I really don't care much for the 17HMR personally but it's more about personal preference. The round can do pretty well in ideal conditions.

I prefer the .22mag. It has better penetration on larger game and it's more stable in the wind. I've got a Savage M93 BTVSS and it will drive tacks at 100 yards.

I got a savage model 93 bull barrel (heavy barrel) in 17hmr. Its a nail driver. 22 Hornet is also a good round as well as 22 or 22 mag i love my 17.

I just got a savage 93r. shoots awsome. There is a new 17 round coming out in a month the 17super mag or somthing. Hornadys saying 3000fps seems prity cool. I have one of each 22lr 22wmr and 17hmr. There all fun guns but on a calm day the 17 out shoots both 22s. And it make a good squirl stew. Lol
