I accept responsibility - it's my rifle - and i'll NEVER make that mistake again. But he was my LGS and I trusted him. My bad.
He still could have, at the very least, said come back in and talk to __________ he'll be here Saturday.
Instead he called me a liar and said it was my fault.
If he has milk to buy he shouldn't act like a piece of **** at his job.
Again - scratch isnt' the issue. His sleazeball attitude is.

man, i get it totally.
i don't care what anyone else thinks about it, i HATE my guns to get effed up with scratches and dings. i know it doesn't bother a lot of people, but it does bother me. my guns always require some time saving up, so i really like them in top notch shape. i get angry when i do it...if someone else did it... and if he threw me an attitude on top...
so..i get it. i would be royally peeved as well.

Shame on them. But, it IS the nut. Sorta half expect it. I would take a deep breath, put it in context, then go back and tell them how careful you are and upset by the lie too. Product I sell requiring installation with a spanner wrench I warn buyers I do NOT take back if installation has been attempted -- it will basically always show marks.

I hear ya -- I put masking tape on pressure points and duct tape around pins I punch to avoid skid marks, but that's being careful...

It's not a huge deal in the big scheme of things - and im not pissed off about the scratch - i'm pissed off about the "sorry bro, it was already there"
I'm pissed off that all he had to do was say "Damn man im sorry, here's a new castle nut" instead he **** his pants and couldn't man up to it, calling me a liar and saying it was already there.
Here's a better perspective.

What did he use? A pair of Channel locking pump pliers?

I don't know much about Medusa - but what's wrong with it?
Google is a powerful friend. Only reason I let this guy do it is because I trusted him and he had done it several times before (or...so he said...)
I had full intentions on doing it myself - after several "youtube videos" it didn't seem too difficult.
Lesson learned
