In the current light, we do not need to be making any waves, or the impression we might be.
Remain calm, and the store owner will make it AOK. The guy you worked with, has a family and milk to buy. No need making things ruff for him over a scratch.

As I said earlier, it's not about the scratch. It's about his immature response to the scratch.
"Sorry bro that was already there" is not a sufficient response when you screw something up.
I accept responsibility - it's my rifle - and i'll NEVER make that mistake again. But he was my LGS and I trusted him. My bad.
He still could have, at the very least, said come back in and talk to __________ he'll be here Saturday.
Instead he called me a liar and said it was my fault.
If he has milk to buy he shouldn't act like a piece of **** at his job.
Again - scratch isnt' the issue. His sleazeball attitude is.

If you took your new pick up in for an oil change and it was scratched would you ignore it?

Now, yes, it's a small scratch - doesn't affect the function of the rifle in any way shape or form.
But if you had a truck, and I walked by and gouged it with a key - spit at your feet, and told you to piss off - would you go on your merry way, or stomp a mudhole in my ass?
I rest my case

I get it ... and I understand But what's done is done About the only thing you can change now about it is to have a talk with his Boss. Chacnes are he will make it right ... if not, chalk it up and move on and let everyone you know that the kid is an idiot
In the big picture of things ... don't we have more pressing issues to worry about than a scratch on a castle nut?

Yeah , I get the attitude issue. I'd be pissed too. There's only one other guy I'd let touch my firearms, but if he messed anything up he'd be buffing sanding or repainting and apologizing. Seen him do it, and he's not even a gunsmith.

My dad dented the door of my pickup BAD On the second day I had it...it is much better to do it yourself than to have someone else do it that's true...
I would go in with a level head and ask for a free replacement and put it on MYSELF...lol... And if they say piss off demand a new rifle and sell the one with the scratch :P
