Oh man, so many choices, It sounds like it's more of a personal preference but being of the Glock generation, the only rifles I've shot are AK/AR derivatives so I'm kinda lost when it comes to traditional rifles.

Savage 110/111, Rem 700, Winchester 70

Savage 110 is a good choice and I'm pretty sure they come in both 308 and 30/06. I don't care for the micro-groove rifling in the 336, and I just prefer older rifles I guess. Plus, they tend to be a little cheaper if you keep your eyes open. Personal preference is all.
