i got the tool in, and just started to sight in the SKS. i only had 17 rounds and didnt have my head on straight the first few. ive never sighted in anything with an adjustable front sight, so it took a while. i got it for the most part. all thats left is fine tuning.

oh yeah, i was shooting at 50yds with iron sights.

Looks like you need to move the rear sight to the left a little. Those are fun rifles to shoot and thew ammo is not too bad. Have a blast.:)

the rear sight is fixed. it only adjust for elevation. i gotta play with the front sight some more. most of what i did today was getting the front sight elevated as you can see from the target

Really? I don't think I've shot one with a fixed rear sight. At any rate...You're still a little left of center....

I was using right handed ammo :)

when I get a chance I'm gonna head back out to the range and fix that. If you would have seen the way the sights were before, you would think what they are now is bullseye.

If the rear sight is adjustable, he would have to move it to the "right". If it is not, move the front sight to the "left".

AFAIK SKS rifles rear sights are only adjustable for elevation. The front sight could be canted though. the front sight is also adjustabel up and down. Your SKS should of come with a small metal tube with some small tools in it. The screwdriver tip that has the end with the cut out used in conjunction with the actual metal tube is what you adjust the front sight up and down. the little cut out fits inside the sight and you can turn the sight up and down by using the metal tool holder tube as the handle.
