Sr25 .308

I have been pondering the thought of a AR10 for some time. I won't something in .308 that is accurate and similar to the AR platform. I was just looking at the SR25. Anyone have any experience with this gun? Just wonting to know if its worth the time to consider.

Also any recommend model? I will need at least a 20" barrel. Accuracy and reliability is a must I also plan to adda suppresser at some point.

I have a lot of experience with this weapon. I learned to shoot long range with an SF team while deployed to Iraq. I really like this gun and enjoyed shooting it. The SR25 I shot had a fixed 10 power Leupold optic. We were shooting at targets between 500 and 800 meters and knocking them down every time.

The SR25 is just a camo'd DPMS LR-308. It's a good rifle, but the trigger really sucks and would need to be up-graded off the bat.
I've enjoyed my LR-260,it has been a very good rifle.I'm still trying to find the perfect load for it,but it shoots pretty good so far.

It was my impression that the SR25 was custom built by Knight's Armament and sold for ~$4500 pre-panic.:confused:

I have a DPMS LR-308 that I horse traded for (1919 year mod 94 Winchester in average shape, and the guy tossed in 1,000 rounds of ammo) We were both happy with our trades. I still have a boat load of Winchesters, but I wanted an AR10.

I have 4 other AR riffles, and this big boy is my favorite. It is a tack driver at typical AR ranges, and going out to extremes my other AR's can't do, the LR-308 does well enough to terminate whatever you are aiming at.

I read some people do not care for DPMS for whatever their (IMHO) trivial reasons are, but for the $1,200 ish price they sell them for at Scheels box store (usually sold out these days) I feel they are a great bargain. If you can do a horse trade like I did (had $200 in the Winchester) even better.

Some DPMS 308s do not have a dust cover over the bolt. That is an option I believe. Mine does not have one. Neither do any of my bolt action riffles, and they work fine. I do not plan on sleeping in muddy creeks like Arnold did in Predator. Lol.

Dollar for dollar, I like my LR-308 better than I do any of my other ARs, including my Colt. In fact, I have two DPMS riffles, and both serve me well.

I too have a DPMS LR308-AP4. Absolutely wonderful rifle, Totally reliable, insanely accurate, and very light and ergo.

But it's not an SR25.

My DPMS is a pickup truck, and the SR25 is a Lambhorgini.

I might just build one when all the madness stops.
