only use solvent inside the barrel to remove copper deposits. breakfree clp does an excellent job of removing carbon and dirt everywhere else. a lightly covered clp patch will remove solvent from the barrel followed by a dry patch or two to remove excess clp.
this is the basic for any rifle shotgun or handgun.
