Rhode Island again. Went to 2 shops yesterday, one of which had at least 10 cases of 9mm, .40 and .45 a piece, and at least 20 cases of .22.
I only own pistols at the moment, so I don't look into the rifle ammo much, but I did notice a lot of shotgun and my buddy picked up a few packs of .223.
Firing range in Mass had very little .40 and no 9mm left. Plenty of .45, .22 and rifle ammo though.

We have all seen this happen before but this time it will be worse and last longer because of the gun control talk. Guns and ammunition are flying off the shelves faster than it can be resupplied. People are afraid they soon won't be able to get their hands on either. A lot of the guns and ammo being bought right now will just be put away somewhere and collect dust. A lot of the people will not take the time or make the effort to familiarize themselves with their firearms and become proficient with them; they just want to be able to get one. I can understand why this is happening but it makes it difficult for those who do shoot their guns and want to have some target practice. People buying guns and not learning how to use them are not doing themselves any good, unless they just hope to sell them and make some money. A gun won't do anyone any good unless they know how to use it.

my local walmart had a sign up yesterday, said all ammo purchases are limited to 3 boxes total, per customer, per day. I don't know how they're stopping you from buying 3 boxes, going to get lunch, and coming back in an hour to buy 3 more, but I did see more available as a result.

prior to the policy, all they had was birdshot, some .22 and some "odd' rifle calibers like 7mm, .300 winmag, etc.

yesterday they had some .45LC, 30-06, .38spl, and .380

with any luck, the new policy will allow the ones who DO go target shoot regularly, to buy 100-150 rounds for a trip to the range without having to delete their home inventory

You could probably get a very good price if you wanted to sell a firearm with 500 rounds of ammo.

You should see the shelves in TX. Nothing at all. You're lucky to find shotgun shells. Academy has recently started selling a (1) box limit so that's helps the everyday shooter like me get the ammo that the normal buy and release for 4x value guys were buying.
