Any SKS owners out there?
Just ordered a new stock, aTapco Sks Fusion System w/ rails.
I have a couple 30 round mags for it, but they are the sks type.
I have heard you could convert to use the regular ak mags, but, I haven't seen the kits anywhere.
Anyone done that?

I have a norinco in a similar stock (no bottom rail on mine). I have enjoyed it very much & should have more fun with it now that the ammo is down to $5/box. I use the "duck bill" magazines from tapco that hold 20 rounds each; they work fine for me.
I have a sks with the..i think its called the T6 stock. looks good almost feels good. The only thing i dont like about it. is that it took all the weight off the back of the gun. so holding it up it feels way heavier than before.
I would not consider trying to convert an sks to use AK mags. You would need to be a veteran gunsmith and machinist to do it right and efficiently. If you want an sks that uses AK mags buy an "M" or "D" sks.
Otherwise, by far, the best aftermarket sks mags are Tapco 20 rounders.
If you to use steel mags, then some of the DC mags work OK.
