Default Silly exploding target question

I have a package of older exploding targets from Explorer Supply. It's the ones that don't make anymore, all the components are in the bag; you mix the 2 powders together, fill the little foam block, and stick the target cover on. Will fire with a .22. At least I don't think they make them any more......the ones on the market now loud different.

So, the question is; should I make them and shoot them up, or do they have some collector's value?

It sounds like they are made from tannerite, or some similar compound.

The government is trying to pin some of the big forest fires out west on shooters.......You may want to consider this in the placement of exploding targets........I personally would not like getting blamed for a forest fire.

If its legitimate Tannerite, it won't start a fire. If its played with Tannerite (mixed with chemicals) then yes it may

I believe it's pre-tannerite. And we aren't out west, and we shoot in a big sandpit. No worries about fire. This stuff is way more sensitive than tannerite, too. You can use it with 22 LR.

I still have a box of those self stick bullseye targets somewhere around. They are about 3" square, and around 1" think, and have a bullseye target on the side. They go off with the sound of an M-80 when you hit them. I believe these are the ones you're talking about.

Yes! They're a kit, though, you have to put them together yourself.

I would like to have some of those. Do you know where I can find some?

I've had mine for years. I haven't seen them for sale anywhere recently. I don't know if they took them off the market because of becoming illegal, or else they were put out of business by all of the Tannerite type of targets that are for sale now. Even Cabela's sells Tannerite type targets now.
