This is my Mk3 No.1 1945 issue with a factory heavy barrel.
When I 1st got it it wasn't looking real good as it looked like the last couple of inches was worn out but after a mate got to it with the bore cleaning gear and a bit of time it came up like new.
I also refurbished the wood by taking the wood work off and boiling it in hot water for a few hours to get the gunk out of the wood and then staining the stock to bring the grain and colour out of the wood.
It shoots 2" at 100yds if I do my bit.

Made in 1955 ,i have the tag from the original goat skin wrap it was in covered in cosmoline about 20 yrs ago i bought it at a flea market in tenn had never been issued.tag say,s new may of 55, the no5 was made in 44 i think

that is is two nice rifles my brother, always been a smle lover but the p17 on bottom is very nice ,how are the bore,s?.and is it .06 cal?

Yes its still a .30-06.. The bore is awesome and has a ME 1.5

Has a barrel date of 3-18

I love the p17 think it can stand its own against any other bolt gun and 06 is one the greatest cal,s ever invented, nice rifles.wanna sell that p17 have to ask lol?
