Default My Baby

The first one is my irst gun, sporterized by Golden State Arms. Dad & Mom bought it as a Christmas Gift in 1961 when I was 13yo . I replaced the Bubbaized stock about 7 years ago. Although I'm pretty good with Irons, I could never get it to shoot good enough to rely on it. I made a scope mount from a piece of angle iron and drilled and taped the action and scoped it. It now Holds well and groups about 1 1/2 MOA. It's now my favorite gun to shoot. It's a little ugly but it holds a warm spot in my heart.

The second is #4 Mk1 Savage I bought at an estate sale as is about 15 years ago. Haven't shot it enough to say it isn't accurate but I wasn't impressed with the very few rounds I did shoot.

I had 2 pattern 14s stolen from me, one looked new and unfired and the other was Bubbaed quite poorly.

the best group i've got so far with my great uncle's sportered 1906 Enfield, has been about 6 inches at 100 yards. i might try a different scope & another brand/weight of ammo but i'm not sure if i can get it any better. the fired cases look good, muzzle crown looks alright, bore isn't bad. maybe it's just worn out after a century of use. well someday when i have a fireplace, there will be a spot above it for the Enfield
