Default Shooting Remington's Military Rolling Block Rifle

In this video I'll be shooting my military Remington Rolling Block rifle made in the 1870s. This rifle is chambered for the big .43 Spanish cartridge.

This rifle is basically a stock military Remington, though I've had the trigger pull reduced to reasonable levels by a local gunsmith and I've mounted a Marbles, tang-mounted lollipop sight.

That looks like a fun rifle.

My only experience with a rolling block was with a Navy Arms rolling block pistol, in .22 Hornet caliber, back in the late 1980's.

I've been looking at Winchester 1885's, but now I'm thinking of some of the Remington Rolling block replicas that come with double-set triggers.

A great video, I really enjoyed watching you handle that fine old Remington.
Kind Regards, Salvo

When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead... It's a pain only felt by others.

Thx Mike. I have an RB chambered in the .43 Egyptian. It is also the off spring of the 44-77 target round later Bison buster. The Egyptians faltered on the order to Remington. These were actually sold to the French.
I picked the RB up down in Mexico many years ago. Like you I modified the sights. I do however prefer the Sharps Rifle. Great video thanks again.
