Check out the Williams WGRS receiver (peep) sights with the fiber optic front sight. I just put them on all my Marlins, they're the cats ass.

After hearing about issues of larger caliber guns breaking some of the pistol scopes I was looking at,I have decided to get the Bushnell banner 1.75x-4x32mm slug gun scope. If it's meant to handle a 12 gauge, then a .444 should be no problem, and the best part about it-it has 6" of eye relief.

I have a marlin .444 with a 3x9x40 nikon prostaff on it. eye relief is great. i killed four deer last year with. my first deer was at 180 yards. the second was at 210. the other two were under 75 yards. the gun a scope work great together and i would not change my set up for nothing. in fact i put my 270 on the shelf and only hunted with my .444 last year.
my dad has a 45-70 with the same scope on it and he loves it also.

Not trying to hi-jack your thread but had to throw in my pennies FWIW....

I have a Contender with a .44 Rem Mag barrel that was re-chambered to .444 Marlin by SSK about 20 years ago. It has had a Burris 4x scope on it and it has survived approx 900 rounds over the years. I've only shot paper and steel with it but imagine it would be a real thumper on game within a reasonable distance.

Anyway, a long eye-relief scope of quality should hold up well. I've also been using a Tasco 3x9x40 on a CZ550 .458 Lott with no issues.
