Scope mount for Mosin Nagant 91/30
 

I've been looking around - I'd like to add a scope to my newest purchase (Mosin 91/30)

As usual, I want to ask a trusted source for their opinions before reading what someone said on Yahoo Answers ;):D

The one I see popping up most often is something like this

Anyone add a scope to their mosin? Experiences? Any advice you can offer would be most appreciated.

That is the easiest one but it's junk. Rock Solid seems to be the favorite.

I bought one from Brownells, cost more than the gun but requires no drilling or other mods, replaces the existing rear sight.

If you remove the rear sight there is a section of 3/8 dovetail, i mounted a scout scope with a pair of 3/8 dovetail scope mounts. Once i had it zeroed it held the zero constantly
