I am thinking about making the upgrade from a savage axis .308 to the model 10 FCP-K but im also thinking about the FCP-SR. They are both in the law enforcement category and i cant decide. I am crunched for cash so i am leaning toward the K but the extra features of the -SR are real nice. What should i do?

Both rifles are very good rifles,but I've never thought too highly of the factory stocks on Savage rifles. The Accu-stock is a nice upgrade from the base stock,but most guy's that have Savage rifles end up buying an Aftermarket stock for their rifles.
I have a bunch of them,and the only one that still wears a Savage factory stock is my 12FLV,and it didn't come with that stock,I bought it after I bought the rifle.It's a factory laminated target stock-pictured as my avitar.
If your wanting the 10FCP style with a decent stock for a decent price,Cabelas has an exclusive 10FCP that comes with a Choate Tactical stock. I bought one from them a couple years ago,and it was around $699. It doesn't have a threaded barrel,but unless your wanting to add a suppressor on it,or just have to have a muzzle brake-not needed for a 308. Recoil isn't bad with a heavy barreled 308.
It's the same rifle as the 10FCP H-S Precision,but with a Choate stock.
I liked the stock so much,I bought another one for my 110FLP 25/06.

I happen to have both. I topped my FCP-SR (308) with a Bushnell Elite 6-24x50mm.

My 10 FCP-K is chambered in .223 and the glass on it is a Leupold VX 3.5-10x40mm
