Which would you choose for longer distance hunting? Say 1000 yds at most. Which one is more accurate, durable, more upgradable, ect.

Taking a 1000yard shot is not a easy thing to do let alone trying to get a bullet to hit in a 5 inch mark on a deer no matter the what gun or caliber you use and no gun can be more accurate then the other as long as you use the ammo that the rifle prefers and the sky is the limit with upgrades to both rifles

Luck of the draw as to which ones better but the savage is easier to upgrade and can be done at home. savage does make there target series that are a step up over both for LR matchs. nether make a great hunting rifle. Pick a 6.5 caliber cartidge. Then its all about optics, rifle rest , reloading skills and your skill as a shooter.

I own the savage fcp-sr .308 and it shoots great I can consistently keep them in a half inch at 100yds haven't moved out from there yet though still working on loads. I bought the rifle about 3 weeks ago and put a vortex viper on it. I'm not a huge fan of Remington but that's me. Also I am just getting into Precision shooting so all I can tell ya is what I have seen with my one rifle. And I don't have the McMillan stock.

I decided on the Savage fcp with the McMillan stock it should come in tomorrow and on Saturday I'm hunting! So ill keep ya posted!
