if it's in good condition, price is decent. not the deal of the century, but a decent price. 270 is a very good caliber too.

if it's an Edge, than it's the older version of the Axis. NIB for $300, then i think it's maybe even a better deal after all. i would definately buy it.

you get what you pay for. a friend of mine has an edge in .270 which i sighted in for him. it is not a bad gun. but not great either. put a decent scope on it and it will give you pretty good accuracy, that is if you can control the heavy trigger pull. overall its not bad i didnt care for the trigger or the overall feel of the gun. but after getting use too the trigger it was accurate.

for a little more money you can find a savage with the accutrigger, which is one of the best factory pulls i have found, or look in to ruger's new all american. it is very similar to the edge but with much better features. also more expensive tho.

A 85 dollar trigger from Rifle Basix will make the trigger first clas on the edge.- Go to EABCO and check out the SAV-1 trigger . I added one to may stevens 200 and had a nice 1 1/2 trigger.

people have used rifles for many, many years with heavy trigger pull weights and have gotten the job done with them. so is a lighter trigger necessary for accuracy? not always, but it can be a factor in that if you aren't use to shooting with one. my personal suggestion is and will always be, at least 2-3lb trigger pull weight for a hunting rifle and much less for a rifle used for target shooting.
