Default Savage Edge

Hey folks, new guy here to this forum. I noticed Savage came out with a new rifle. I been looking for another rifle and not wanting to spend a fortune. Anybody handle or look at one, fire one? Worth the $259 Cabelas is selling them for right now?

Thanks,

Don't own one but read a lot of rave reviews. It is supposed to be among the best choice at its price range.

Hey thanks, I just talked with my local gun shop, I have bought a few guns from them in the past. He stated he has sold a couple already and his customers said they liked the gun. He ordered me one, just the plain black one in 270 win. If anybody is interested I will shoot it asap and will let know how it does.

Sorry, one more question. What scope bases will fit on this rifle? I looked on Midwayusa and couldn't find much on the Edge.

Alright, sorry no pics yet but will. I found some bases, same ones fit it that fit my 110 and mounted a Bushnell 4200 Elite 3-9x40. I took it out today. put a few rounds through it and started to sight in the scope. Shot MOA, for sure, once sighted in I was putting holes right next to holes if I did my part. I'm very impressed, little stiff on recoil for a 270, however, the rifle is pretty light, the recoil pad did do it's job, a stiffer pad and that might have been unpleasant. The bolt is very smooth for a 300 dollar rifle, the trigger is a little heavy but no creep at all and broke very crisp, I will not mess with it, good enough for a hunting gun.
