Wanted to know what you guys thought of of this rifle. Is it reliable? Is it accurate? As it is relatively cheap rifle is it good for the what it is priced at?

yes it's a very good rifle for the price, accurate, well made and shoots nicely. i haven't shot the 223 in that rifle but have shot severa other calibers and wouldn't think it to be any less accurate than the others i shot. i personally prefer the Marlin X7's over the Axis, but the Axis is still a decent rifle and one that would serve you well.

the X7 series of rifles are great. i have three different ones, the XS7 in 7mm-08, the XL7C in 25-06 and the XS7VH in 308. they are very accurate an well made. not much more in price than the Axis.

the X7's come in 243, 7mm-08 and 308 on the short action and 25-06, 270 and 30-06 on the long actions. the heavy barrel varmint hunter comes in 22-250 and 308. the stocks come in black or camo finish, and they also have them in stainless steel if thats more to your liking.

go to Marlins website and check them out for all the different features.

The Axis has a 1:9 twist in 223. A lot of the 223 rifles still have a 1:12 which wont handle the heavier bullets.
