What are you looking to do with it? Mainly a LR hunter or for longer range fun. Any way the stevens 200 can be bought for right at 300dollars and is just the old model 10 metal works add to that a Rifle Basic SAV-1 for 85 bucks with a 1lb pull weight or a SAV-2 for a 4oz pull weight and 146 bucks dollars . Then a stock upgrade as or if needed.

If a range gun the 243win can shoot with a 6.5-284 out to 1000 yards and give that barrel a AI chamber for a better preformance at a minimum of cost.

If its a hunter get that 7mm RM. Also good for 1000 yards with high SD bullets in lighter weights than the 300WM.

To bad they do not offer the stevens in a 6.5 cartidge like a 260.

I've had a Savage 110 in 7mm Rem mag for years. Bought a package gun, came w/ a 3-9x32mm Simmons scope. After a few years I upgraded the scope a bit to a Weaver V10. My rifle is a Sierra lite, very heavy tapper to the barrel making it much lighter. 111 XP hunter package lists for $525.00 in 7mm Rem Mag. Now, I do know of a G series 110 in 7mm mag that is new as in never fired. It is owned by my old FFL's wife, who is now an FFL. It has iron sights, but needs a front blade, nice wood stock. They were shipped without the blade. $275.00. $45.00 for Warne bases and rings, that leaves $180.00 for a scope. BTW, The Blades are $4.50 here!!
