This is the
EXACT same rifle that I purchased for $249 +tax, am not sure as it's age, however previous owner does not seem to have shot it much if at all! Bore is spotless, no pits etc, rifling is deep and bright again no pitting. I tried it by shooting 20 rounds (could only find 1 box of ammo locally but have several on their way from Cheaper than dirt), I shot all free standing using the iron sights, I fired 5 rounds at 25 yards, got a 1 & 3/8 group, centered 2" above center of 4 inch round EZ see target, 5 rounds at 50 yards, again well centered, 2 & 1/8 group about 3" above center, remaining 10 rounds at 100 yards, 5 & 1/4 inch group centered but 1 & 1/2 inch below center of target. Not too shabby for this type of firearm and with 57 year old eyes with bi-focals LOL.
2 things that were not great, trigger is atrocious (12lbs or so?) heavy and gritty, if someone can give me pointers on how to remedy this, it would be greatly appreciated, other is felt recoil, am not recoil sensitive (Ruger 77 in 458 WinMag, in 338 WinMag, my first store bought centerfire in 1970 a Remington 600 in 308Win which kicks like a mule!) but this thing is downright nasty with 180 grainers, ordered a Packmayer Decellerator LOL.
Thank you for any info you may be able to share.
Dan.
